My preaching was selected as data which was analysed in research at a Spanish university on “Style evolution in the English sermon”.
My texts were among ten late 20th century authors whose sermons were compared with earlier writers from previous centuries.
The study demonstrated that preachers were increasingly abandoning the more ornamented rhetorical style in favour of plain English.
Researchers, Claudia Claridge and Andrew Wilson, carried out the study at the University of Santiago de Compostela.
